Top 7 aftershaves for the Spring
I am a huge believer that the finishing touches make the difference whether it’s a nice vintage watch or great pair of shoes. They can elevate your outfit and make it stand out. Well for me this is the same with fragrances. I like to think there is a fragrance for the occasion or mood. I do also like to have a signature fragrance that I wear most of the time when I’m at home. Below are my top 7 fragrances this Spring.

1.DUNHILL - Icon Elite
This is my favourite fragrance as I was lucky enough to work on it with the lovely people at Dunhill and be photographed by the amazing Annie Leibovitz. Also unlike some products you work on, this is honestly amazing! It’s my go to daily fragrance. I love all three versions but especially this new one in the black bottle. A warm sweet, strong aroma of cardamom complimented with black pepper below the stunning smell of the rich woods with the blue sage coming through in perfect balance.

2.BAMFORD - Edtition 1
As you will see there is a continual theme with myself and the Bamford brands and that is because they are just so good. This is no exception and a serious contender for me to change my top spot in my wash bag from my long term favourite Dunhill Icon. It’s refreshing and sophisticated but incredibly masculine. The agarwood gives this fragrance a stunning rich sweet, balsamic woody smell with mild lingering floral notes.

When to wear - Perfect for a weekend in the city as it will make you feel fresh and also luxurious.

3.TOM FORD - Venetian Bergmot
Everything Mr. Ford does is pure luxury and his fragrances are no exception. This one is powerful and masculine with a spicy, mild woody aroma with hints of floral notes. I love all his fragrances and this is my new go to fragrance for when I want to make an impression.
Key Ingredients: Bergamot, florals, precious woods, warm spices
When to wear - This is very powerful and sexy and suits a dinner party or event where you want to stand out.

4. DIOR - Sauvage
Who doesn't love bergamot and pepper and well if Johnny Depp is fronting it then it must be good. This fragrance has a beautiful balance of sweet and spice and feels effortlessly elegant. It is perfect for a day of meetings or a first date when you want something subtle yet endearing.
Key Ingredients: Bergamot, Ambroxan, Geranium, Pepper, Lavender, Vetiver and Patchouli.
When to wear - this is for me a great every day fragrance and not too overpowering.

5. HERRERA - 212 VIP Men
This is the sort of aftershave that when your spray it on, it hits you straight away! It’s a complex scent that never gets old. With a rich woody scent and notes of both caviar and lime complemented with a trail of chilled vodka and a hint of mint. This is the real modern gentleman’s aftershave.
When to wear - This is great for a holiday by the beach. It feels super fresh and energetic, so perfect for after a long day in the sun and sea.

This for me is the future of fragrance and I applaud this brand for what is a revolutionary approach to the market. It consists of one single ingredient, which is known as Iso E Super in the fragrance industry. Its chemistry adapts to the wearer and is different for every person. Enticing and unique, there really is nothing like it.
When to wear - when you want to make a statement and stand out from the crown. It’s a one off proposition and a talking point.

I love the fragrances Creed do and one of the main reasons I love the brand is that it is a joint effort creation of father and son, Olivier and Erwin Creed. Specialising in one product is for all to see from the gorgeous bottles to the powerful in depth fragrances and the Aventus is no exception, With top notes of blackcurrant, bergamot, apple and pineapple. Along with a rich base of oak moss and vanilla. Creed Aventus is true work of art in a bottle.
